The reaction mixture is stirred for 16 h at room temperature and then evaporated. The remainder taken up with ethyl acetate, extracted with 1 N aqueous sodium bicarbonate solution, 0.5 N aqueous hydrochloric acid and brine, dried over sodium sulfate and evaporated. The residue is purified by column chromatography on silica gel (cyclohexane/ethyl acetate 3:1) to give 2-(2-chloro-6-fluoro-phenyl)-N-(4-{1-[2-(5-methyl-3-trifluoromethyl-pyrazol-1-yl)-acetyl]piperidin-4-yl}-thiazol-2-yl)-acetamide (compound I.as.001) as white crystals. m.p. 249-251 C. 1H-NMR (400 MHz, CDCl3): delta=1.62 (dd, 2H), 2.04 (t, 2H), 2.30 (s, 3H), 2.71-2.88 (m, 2H), 3.22 (t, 2H), 3.96-4.03 (m, 3H), 4.60 (d, 1H), 4.99 (q, 2H), 6.32 (s, 1H), 6.53 (s, 1H), 7.11 (t, 1H), 7.28-7.33 (m, 2H), 8.66 (s, 1H). MS: m/z=544 (M+1).
