In comparison to current alternative methods for trifluoromethylation of aryl halides, this system reacts under much milder conditions, tolerates a wider range of functional groups, tolerates basic heterocycles, reacts with more hindered substrates, can be extended to perfluoroalkylation, and occurs with a low total cost of goods.
