The reaction was heated to 85C before the addition of propylphosphonic anhydride (38.5 mL, 60.4 mmol, 50% solution in EtOAc) drop-wise. The reaction was heated at 85C for 16 hours before cooling to room temperature. The organic solution was washed with saturated aqueous sodium hydrogen carbonate solution (3 x 25 mL), saturated brine (30 mL) and concentrated invacuo.
