The reaction was cooled to RT and cautiously quenched with aq. IN HC1 and stirred at RT for 1 h, after which the mixture was extracted with EtOAc (3 X 50 mL). The combined organic extracts were concentrated in vacuo. The residue was chromatographed (80 g Si02; continuous gradient from 0% to 100% EtOAc in hexanes, 25 min) to give the title compound (3.60 g, 18.9 mmol, 77 % yield) as a white solid.
