To this isoamyl nitrite (5.52 ml, 41.10 mmol) was added dropwise and the mixture was then stirred at room temperature for 1.5 hrs. The solvent was evaporated to give ethyl 5-bromo-1-(4-fluorophenyl)-1 H-pyrazole-4- carboxylate (15.56 g) as an orange\/brown oil which solidified on standing.
