While bubbling in nitrogen, copper(I) iodide (4.71 mg, 0.025 mmol) was added and the mixture was capped and heated with stirring at 110 C for 5 hours. After cooling, the reaction mixture was filtered, and the filtrate was concentrated under high vacuum and the residue was dissolved in DMF for purification. The product was purified via preparative HPLC to afford l-(5-(4-(2-hydroxyethyl)-lH- pyrazol-l-yl)-4-(isopropylandno)pyridin-2-yl)-lH-pyrazolo[3,4-b]pyridine-5-carbonitrile (4.4 mg, 8% yield).
