The synthetic route is as follows.<\/p>\n<p>1-Fluoromethyl-lH-pyrazole Diethylaminosulfur trifluoride (4.5 mL, 34 mmol) was added dropwise to a stirred solution of pyrazol-1-yl-methanol (3.34 g, 34.1 mmol) in anhydrous THF (67 mL) at -80C. The reaction mixture was allowed to warm to room temperature and was then concentrated in vacuo. The residue was partitioned between DCM (100 mL) and water (30 mL). The pH of the aqueous layer was adjusted to 8 by the addition of solid NHCO3. The organic layer was dried over Na2SO4, filtered, and concentrated in vacuo to give the title compound.
