A mixture of diethyl 1H-pyrazole-3,5-dicarboxylate (3.00 g, 14.1 mmol), 2-bromo-1-(8-fluoronaph- thalen-2-yl)ethanone (Intermediate 205A, 3.78 g, 14.1 mmol) and potassium carbonate (2.15 g, 15.6 mmol) in acetone (40 ml) was stirred at RT overnight. After filtering off the solids, the filtrate was evaporated and the residue partitioned between dichloromethane and water. The organic phase was washed with water and brine, then dried over sodium sulfate and concentrated. The crude product was purified by flash-chromatography on silica gel (80 g, eluent: 0-20% ethyl ace- tate in petroleum ether) to give the title compound (4.21 g, 70% of theory, 94% purity). LC\/MS [Method 6]: Rt = 1.25 min; MS (ESIpos): m\/z = 399 [M+H]+. 1H-NMR (400 MHz, DMSO-d6): d [ppm] = 8.85 (s, 1H), 8.22 (d, 1H), 8.14-8.10 (m, 1H), 7.94 (d, 1H), 7.77-7.72 (m, 1H), 7.55-7.50 (m, 1H), 7.39 (s, 1H), 6.46 (s, 2H), 4.33 (q, 2H), 4.24 (q, 2H), 1.32 (t, 3H), 1.18 (t, 3H).<\/p>\n
