The residue was adjusted to pH=5 by additional of hydrochloric acid (2 N). The formed solid was collected by filtration, washed with water (20 mL) and dried in vacuo to afford crude 5-iodo-1-methyl-1H-pyrazole-4-carboxylic acid (6.0 g, 89%) as a white solid, used as is in the next step.<\/p>\n<p>These compound has a wide range of applications.
