7-Bromo-5 -(chloromethyl)-2,3 -dihydro- 1 -benzofuran 3 (120 mg, 0.48 mmol, 1.17 eq.), 4-fluoro-JH-pyrazole (35 mg, 0.41 mmol, leq.), K2C03 (120 mg, 0.87 mmol, 2.1 eq.) in DMF (1 mL) were stirred at rt for 18 hr. The reaction was diluted with water (8 mL) and extracted with EtOAc (10 mL X 2). The combined organics were dried over Na2SO4, and concentrated to give a residue, which was purified by chromatography (SG, hexane\/DCM (1.5:1)) to yield 4 as a white solid (106 mg, 88% yield).<\/p>\n
