The synthetic route is as follows.<\/p>\n<p>General procedure: 5-Amino-1-aryl-1H-pyrazole-4-carbonitriles 1a-j (10 mmol) and SnCl4 (2.3 mL, 20 mmol) were added to a stirred solution of acetylacetone (10 mmol) in dry toluene (20 mL). The reaction mixture was stirred under nitrogen at room temperature for 30 min and then heated under reflux for 5-6 h. The reaction mixture was cooled and poured into water and titrated to pH 12-13 with a saturated aqueous solution of Na2CO3. After filtration, the filtrate was extracted three times with ethyl acetate and the organic layer was dried and evaporated at reduced pressure to give the solid product. The product was purified by silica gel column chromatography and eluted with ethyl acetate\/petroleum (1:3, v:v) to give 3a-h and 4a-j.<\/p>\n<p>The chemical industry reduces the impact on the environment during synthesis 5-Amino-1-(3-chlorophenyl)-1H-pyrazole-4-carbonitrile.
