The reaction mixture is gradually warmed to RT, stirred for about 2 h and then heated to 60 0C for about 4 h. POCI3 is distilled under reduced pressure. The reaction mixture is quenched with ice and extracted with EtOAc (3 x 75 mL). The combined organic layers are washed with water, brine, dried over anhydrous Na2SO4 and concentrated under reduced pressure.
