The reaction was concentrated under reduced pressure and the residue was taken up in 1.2 mL of acetonitrile. Purification by mass-directed HPLC using a gradient of 25-75% MeCN\/water both containing 0.1% TFA as the eluting solvent to afford 2-[4-((E)-2-Cyano-ethenesulfonyl)-phenyl]-N-(4- pyrazol- l-yl-benzyl)-isobutyramide trifluoroacetic acid salt as a pale -yellow solid (33 mg,28%), mp = 47-53 C.
