To a solution of i-methyl1H-pyrazole-3-carboxylic acid (504 mg, 4 mmol) in MeOH (5 mL) was added SOC12 (1.4 mL, 20 mmol) at 0C. The mixture was stirred at r.t overnight then concentrated under reduced pressure. The residue was dissolved in EtOAc, washed withsatd. aq.
