It was then poured onto demineralised water (200ml_) and extracted with EtOAc (3 x 100ml_). The organic phases were combined, dried over Na2S04, filtered and subsequently concentrated in vacuo. The resulting residue was purified by flash chromatography with EtOAc\/Hexane (1 : 1) to provide 4-(4-fluorophenyl)-N-(1-methyl- 1 H-pyrazol-3-yl)pyridin-2-amine (3) as a yellow solid (1.0g, 71 percent).
