The reaction solution was stirred at room temperature for 2 h. The N-(3-cyano-4,5,6,7-tetrahydrothieno[2,3-c]pyridin-2-yl)benzamide (100 mg, 0.353 mmol) was added in one portion. The solution was then stirred at room temperature overnight. The reaction was diluted with methylene chloride and washed. The aqueous layer was extracted with methylene chloride twice, the combined organic phases were dried over anhydrous MgSO4.
