The synthetic route is as follows.<\/p>\n<p>To a RT solution of 4-bromo-l -methyl- lH-pyrazole-5-carboxylic acid (2.0 g, 9.8 mmol) in THF (24.4 ml) was added BH3.THF complex (19.5 mL of a 1M solution in TFIF, 19.5 mmol) and the reaction was stirred at RT for 1 h, then was heated to 50 C and stirred at 50 C for 3 days, then was cooled to RT. The reaction was quenched slowly by dropwise addition of 1M aq. HC1 (10 mL) at RT, then was partitioned between CH2Cl2 (30 mL) and water (30 mL). The aqueous phase was extracted with CFLCh (2 X 30 mL) and the combined organic extracts were dried (MgS04) and filtered through a pad of Si02 to give the crude title compound (1.86 g, 100 % yield) as a white solid.
