The reaction mixture is mixed with a little water, then for saponification aqueous LiOH solution (414 mg in 3 mL H20) is added and the mixture is stirred for 2 h at 40C. The reaction mixture is neutralised with hydrochloric acid, evaporated down to some extent using the rotary evaporator and the residue is purified by preparative RP-MPLC.
