The mixture was degassed under a stream of nitrogen for 5 min. Pd(dppf)2Cl2 (0.1 g, 0.123 mmol) was added and the mixture was heated at 130 C. in a microwave for 90 min. A further portion of Pd(dppf)2Cl2 (50 mg, 0.06 mmol) was added and the mixture was heated at 130 C. for a further 90 min. The solvents were removed under reduced pressure and the crude residue partitioned between EtOAc and water. The organic layer was separated, dried over MgSO4 and concentrated under reduced pressure.
