The solvent was removed under reduced pressure and the residue was purified through column chromatography on silica gel using hexane and ethyl acetate (10: 1 -5 : 1 -3 : 1) as eluent to obtain the desired product, l-(3-methoxyphenyl)-4-phenyl-lH-pyrazole 8, as a colorless liquid (1.13 g in 84% yield).
