The reaction was allowed to warm to room temperature and filtered. The filtrate was diluted with EtOAc and water, and the seperated aq. layer was extracted with EtOAc. The combined organics were dried over MgS04, filtered and concentrated. The residue was purified with flash chromatography (ISCO Combiflash, 24 g, 0-10 % EtOAc in hexanes) to give 5- chloro-4-(3-iodo-lH-pyrazol-l-yl)-2-methoxypyridine, as a white solid.
