This was heated at 1300C for 18 hours. The resulting mixture was poured into 50 mL water. This was extracted with ethyl- acetate. The ethylacetate layer was washed with brine, dried over anhydrous magnesium sulfate, filtered, concentrated in vacuo, and purified by flash chromatography (eluted with ethylacete\/- hexanes) to yield 5-Bromo-l-methyl-3-(l-methyl-lH-pyrazol-3-ylamino)-lH-pyridin-2-one (271mg, 0.957mmol). MS (ESI) 284.9 (M+H)+.<\/p>\n<p>These compound has a wide range of applications.
