The completion of the reaction was confirmed by TLC. The reaction mixture was poured into ice cold water. The resulting solid was filtered, washed with water (50 mL) and dried under reduced pressure. It was used in the next step without any further purification. Yield: 87% (10 g, off white solid). 1H NMR (400 MHz, DMSO-d6 : delta 8.39 (s, 1 H), 7.87 (s, 1 H), 4.45-4.39 (m, 1 H), 4.21 (q, J = 7.2 Hz, 2H), 4.05-4.02 (m, 2H), 2.01 -1.98 (m, 2H), 1.85-1.78 (m, 2H), 1.42 (s, 9H), 1.26 (t, J = 7.2 Hz, 3H).
