Anhydrous DMF (2 drops)was added to the solution, followed by the dropwise addition of oxalyl chloride (536 mg, 4.22 mmol). The mixture was stirred overnight , and the solvent was removed in vacuo. The crude product acyl chloride (R1Cl) was used in the next step without further purification. R1Cl (1.33 g, 11.00 mmol) in dichloromethane was added dropwise to a stirred solution of intermediate 2 (10.00 mmol) and Et3N (0.87 g, 11.00 mmol) in dichloromethane (20 mL) at 0 oC. Stirring at room temperature was continued until TLC monitoring indicated total consumption of the intermediate 2. The reaction mixture was then evaporated to dryness, and the residue was purified by flash column chromatography on silica gel with ethyl acetate-petroleum ether (1:1) as eluent to yield the final products 3c-i.<\/p>\n<p>In the field of chemistry, the synthetic routes of compounds are constantly being developed and updated.
