After nitrogen substitution, Pd(PPh3)4 (0.05 equiv) wasadded. The reaction mixture was stirred at 80 C under nitrogenatmosphere for 12 h. The reaction mixture was cooled, and water(15 mL) was added. The mixture was diluted with AcOEt (15 mL),and the insoluble material was filtered off through Celite. Theorganic layer of the filtrate was washed with brine, dried overanhydrous sodium sulfate, and concentrated in vacuo. The residuewas purified by silica gel column chromatography using a mixtureof petroleum ether\/ethyl acetate (10:1, v\/v) as eluent to afford thedesired product 2a or 6a as a solid. 4.1.1.2. 3-(1,3,5-trimethyl-1H-pyrazol-4-yl)benzaldehyde (6a).
