The reaction mixture was diluted with water then extracted with ethyl acetate (2 x). The combined organic layers were washed with water and brine, then dried over sodium sulfate, filtered and concentrated to give the title compound as a beige solid (3.3 g, 87.4%). TLC: Ethylacetate\/Hexane (3\/7): Rf : 0.85. 1H N R (CDCI3; 400 MHz): delta 8.38 (dd, J = 9.1 Hz, 2H), 8.10 (d, J = 2.4 Hz, 1 H), 7.94 (dd, J = 9.1 Hz, 2H), 6.83 (d, J = 2.5 Hz, 1 H).<\/p>\n<p>These compound has a wide range of applications.
