The new complexes were characterized by elemental analyses, conductivity measurements, IR and <sup>1<\/sup>H NMR spectroscopies. The crystal and mol. structure of [PdCl<sub>2<\/sub>(HL<sup>1<\/sup>)] was resolved by x-ray diffraction, and consists of monomeric cis-[PdCl<sub>2<\/sub>(HL<sup>1<\/sup>)] mols. The Pd center has a typical square planar geometry, with a slight tetrahedral distortion. The tetracoordinated metal atom is bonded to one pyridine N, one pyrazolic N and two chloro ligands in a cis disposition. The ligand HL<sup>1<\/sup> is not completely planar.
