The ligand crystallizes in triclinic system with space group P-1, a(\u00c5) = 7.8930(4), b(\u00c5) = 11.2019(5), c(\u00c5) = 13.0211(7); \u03b1(\u00b0) = 96.175(3), \u03b2(\u00b0) = 100.922(3)\u00b0, \u03b3(\u00b0) = 91.005(3)\u00b0, V(\u00c5<sup>3<\/sup>) = 1123.02(10), r(mg\/m<sup>3<\/sup>) = 1.306 and Z = 2. Cadmium(II) complex crystallizes in the monoclinic crystal system with space group P2<sub>1<\/sub>\/c, unit cell dimensions a(\u00c5) = 9.6939(5), b(\u00c5) = 22.5183(11), c(\u00c5) = 21.2054(10); \u03b1(\u00b0) = 90, \u03b2(\u00b0) = 99.960(2), \u03b3 (\u00b0) = 90, V(\u00c5<sup>3<\/sup>) = 4559.2(4) and Z = 4. The packing of the mols. in the crystal lattice is stabilized by intermol. hydrogen bonds.
