To this suspension was then added Mel (1.382 mL, 22.11 mmol) and stirred at rt overnight. The reaction mixture was then diluted with EtOAc and washed with brine. The organic layer was concentrated, followed by purification using normal phase chromatography to yield l-methyl-4-nitro-lH-pyrazole a as white solid (1.9 g, 80%). NMR (400 MHz, CDC13) 5 ppm 8.12 (s, 1H), 8.06 (s, 1H), 3.97 (s, 3H).<\/p>\n<p>These compound has a wide range of applications.
