And the patent contained the following:<\/p>\n<p>The present invention is directed to substituted azetidine compounds of general formula I (wherein X1, X2 and X3 independently are CH or N; R is H and C1-6alkyl; R2 is H, (un)substituted O-C1-6alkyl, (un)substituted C1-3haloalkyl, etc.; R3 is NRC(O)R6, C(O)OR6, C(O)NR6R6, and (CH2)nC5-10heterocycle, said heterocycle is optionally substituted; R5 is (CH2)nC6-10 aryl, (CH2)nC5-10 heterocycle, (CH2)nC3-10cycloalkyl, the rings being optionally substituted; R6 is H, (un)substituted C1-6-alkyl, OR, etc.; n = 0-4) which are useful as therapeutic agents for the treatment of central nervous system disorders associated with phosphodiesterase 10 (PDE10). The present invention also relates to the use of such compounds for treating neurol. and psychiatric disorders, such as schizophrenia, psychosis or Huntington&#8217;s disease, and those associated with striatal hypofunction or basal ganglia dysfunction. Synthetic procedures for preparing I are exemplified. Example compound II was prepared by reacting intermediates 2-(azetidin-3-yl)-1-methyl-1H-benzimidazole and 4-chloro-6-(3,5-dimethyl-1H-1,2,4-triazol-1-yl)-2-methylpyrimidine. In a PDE10 inhibition assay, II had a Ki of 2.1 nM.
