An efficient and straightforward method for the synthesis of new and versatile sulfonyl-functionalized allylic amines through the selective copper-catalyzed aza-1,6-conjugate addition of heterocycles or arylamines to 1,4-disubstituted-1,3-dienyl sulfones has been developed. This catalytic process is promoted by a combination of an easily prepared and sterically demanding N-heterocyclic carbene-based copper complex and KOt-Bu under mild reaction conditions to provide a broad range of (E)-allylic amines with excellent regio- and stereoselectivities.

Objective. Exposure to severe stressors may alter immune function and augment inflammation and cytokine release, increasing risk of autoimmune disease. We examined whether childhood abuse was associated with a heightened risk of incident systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE). Methods. Data were drawn from the Nurses’ Health Study II, a cohort of US female nurses enrolled in 1989, followed with biennial questionnaires. We measured childhood physical and emotional abuse with the Physical and Emotional Abuse Subscale of the Childhood Trauma Questionnaire and sexual abuse with the Sexual Maltreatment Scale of the Parent-Child Conflict Tactics Scale, both administered in 2001. We identified incident SLE (>= 4 American College of Rheumatology 1997 classification criteria) through 2015. We used multivariable Cox regression models to evaluate the association between childhood abuse and SLE, accounting for potential confounders (e.g., parental education, occupation, home ownership) and mediators [e.g., depression, posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD)]. Results. Among 67,516 women, there were 94 cases of incident SLE. In adjusted models, exposure to the highest versus lowest physical and emotional abuse was associated with 2.57 times greater risk of SLE (95% CI 1.30-5.12). We found that 17% (p < 0.0001) of SLE risk associated with abuse could be explained by depression and 23% (p < 0.0001) by PTSD. We did not observe a statistically significant association with sexual abuse (HR 0.84, 95% CI 0.40-1.77, highest vs lowest exposure). Conclusion. We observed significantly increased risk of SLE among women who had experienced childhood physical and emotional abuse compared with women who had not. The synthesis, characterization, antibacterial activity and cyclic voltammetry of bidentate N,S donor pyrazole derivative ligands abbreviated as Na(EtNCSPz) (1), Na(PhNCSPz) (2), Na(PhNCSPz(me2)) (3), Na (PhNCSPz(me3)) (4) and their metal complexes with Ni(II) and Co(II) metal ions are reported, where Pz = pyrazole, Pz(me2) = 3,5-dimethylpyrazole and Pz(me3) = 3,4,5-trimethylpyrazole. All of the synthesized ligands and complexes have been characterized by physicochemical and spectroscopic methods and the crystal structures of [Ni(EtNCSPz)(2)] (1a) and [Ni(PhNCSPz(Me3))(2)] (4a) have been determined by X-ray diffraction analysis. The X-ray crystal structure of both the complexes describe a square planar coordination geometry. The electrochemical studies show that the synthesized complex is an electrochemically active species, furthermore, substitution electron donating groups on the ligands shift the reduction and oxidation potentials to negative values. Antibacterial activity results indicate these complexes possess high activity against gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria compare to the free ligands. (C) 2020 Elsevier Ltd. Electrocatalytic hydrogenation is a particularly attractive approach for converting the most unstable compounds in biogenic feedstocks at ambient conditions without external H-2. Here, we synthesized a variety of carbon-supported transition metal catalysts and characterized their activity for the electrocatalytic hydrogenation of a series of model compounds and pyrolysis bio-oil. Carbonyl compounds, especially aromatic aldehydes, such as furfural and benzaldehyde, are particularly inclined to hydrogenation driven by an applied current. This was verified with pure solutions of the model compounds and with pyrolysis bio-oil, where we achieved stable and steady continuous operation on Pd. When optimal catalyst composition was chosen, the conversion of benzaldehyde shifted from alcohol production (e.g., on Pd and Cu) to dimerization (e.g., on Co, Ni, and Zn). Pd and Cu were shown to offer the best compromise between reaction rates and efficiency although, in general, base metals offer similar conversions but better efficiencies than noble metals. Thus, the present work offers foundational results and guidelines for choosing the optimal metal catalyst and the applied potential for processing organic feedstocks as a function of its composition.

Some new compounds, 2-(3,5-dimethyl-1H-pyrazol-1-yl)-4-substituted acetophenone oximes [4a-4f; here, 4-substituent = H (a), Br (b), Me (c), Cl(d), NO2 (e), F (f)] were synthesized by the reaction of 2-(3,5-d imethyl-1H-pyrazol-1 -yl)-1 -arylethano nes with hydroxylamine hydrochloride. These compounds were characterized by analyzing their IR, H-1, C-13 NMR and mass spectral data. Compounds 4a-4f were further converted into their silver complexes (4g-4l) and chemical structures of which were established on the basis of their X-ray crystallographic data. The antibacterial and DNA photocleavage activity studies were carried out for all the synthesized compounds 4a-4l, and it has been found that compound 4l displayed an excellent level of antibacterial and DNA photocleavage activity. Among the series, Ag-complexes (4g-4l) displayed excellent antibacterial activity against four bacterial strains using Ciprofloxacin as a standard drug. In DNA photocleavage study, it has been observed that compounds 4a, 4e, 4f degraded both forms of DNA, whereas their Ag-complexes degraded DNA completely even at a very low concentration. The intermolecular interactions present in 4g and 4h were described by decomposing Hirshfeld surfaces into 2D fingerprint plots. It was observed that non-polar interactions contribute dominantly in overall intermolecular interactions exit in crystals of both the compounds. (C) 2020 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.

Two novel space craft-like octanuclear Co(II)-silsesquioxane nanocages, {Co-8[(MeSiO2)(4)](2)(dmpz)(8)} (SD/Co8a) and {Co-8[(PhSiO2)(4)](2)(dmpz)(8)} (SD/Co8b) (SD = SunDi; Hdmpz = 3,5-dimethylpyrazole), have been constructed from two similar multidentate silsesquioxane ligands assisted with a pyrazole ligand. The Cob skeleton consists of eight tetrahedral Co(II) ions arranged in a ring and is further capped by two (MeSiO2)(4) ligands up and down. The auxiliary dmpz(-) ligands seal the ring finally. Electrospray ionization mass spectrometry revealed SD/Co8a and SD/Co8b are highly stable in CH2Cl2. Magnetic analysis implies that SD/Co8a announces antiferromagnetic interactions between Co(II) ions. Moreover, both of them display good homogeneous catalytic activity for hydroboration of ketones in the presence of pinacolborane under mild conditions.

New cis-(1,2-azole)-aquo bis(2,2′-bipyridyl)-ruthenium(II) (1,2-azole (az*H) = pzH (pyrazole), dmpzH (3,5-dimethylpyrazole), and indzH (indazole)) complexes are synthesized via chlorido abstraction from cis-[Ru(bipy)(2)Cl(az*H)]OTf. The latter are obtained from cis-[Ru(bipy)(2)Cl-2] after the subsequent coordination of the 1,2-azole. All the compounds are characterized by H-1, C-13, N-15 NMR spectroscopy as well as IR spectroscopy. Two chlorido complexes (pzH and indzH) and two aquo complexes (indzH and dmpzH) are also characterized by X-ray diffraction. Photophysical and electrochemical studies were carried out on all the complexes. The photophysical data support the phosphorescence of the complexes. The electrochemical behavior of all the complexes in an Ar atmosphere indicate that the oxidation processes assigned to Ru(II) -> Ru(III) occurs at higher potentials in the aquo complexes. The reduction processes under Ar lead to several waves, indicating that the complexes undergo successive electron-transfer reductions that are centered in the bipy ligands. The first electron reduction is reversible. The electrochemical behavior in CO2 media is consistent with CO2 electrocatalyzed reduction, where the values of the catalytic activity [i(cat)(CO2)/i(p)(Ar)] ranged from 2.9 to 10.8. Controlled potential electrolysis of the chlorido and aquo complexes affords CO and formic acid, with the latter as the major product after 2 h. Photocatalytic experiments in MeCN with [Ru(bipy)(3)]Cl-2 as the photosensitizer and TEOA as the electron donor, which were irradiated with >300 nm light for 24 h, led to CO and HCOOH as the main reduction products, achieving a combined turnover number (TONCO+HCOO-) as high as 107 for 2c after 24 h of irradiation.

Corn stover is hydrothermally carbonized at different temperatures (180 degrees C, 200 degrees C, 220 degrees C, 240 degrees C and 260 degrees C) for 4 h, for different residence times (1 h, 2 h, 4 h, 12 h and 24 h) at 220 degrees C, or by adding acid (1% and 2%) at 220 degrees C for 4 h. The yields, elemental analysis, functional group analysis, molecular composition and microstructure of those hydrochars are characterized, and the nitrogen recovery in the by-products is analysed to further understand the elemental transformation in the progress of hydrothermal carbonization. The results indicate that a higher temperature, longer residence time or acid addition can cause lower yields and simultaneously reduce the H/C (0.76-1.33) and O/C (0.19-0.68) ratios of the hydrochars by 13.1%-50.5% and 9.3-73.4% compared with feedstock, respectively. Py-GC/MS analyses showed that furan compounds decreasing or disappearing and phenolic compounds increasing significantly promotes the aromaticity of hydrochar during the hydrothermal carbonization, especially under severe conditions. The SEM images of hydrochars show that the formation of carbon spheres is the cause of changes in the surface morphology of hydrochar. The nitrogen recovery efficiency increased with the reaction severity, so that the liquid by-product from corn stovers by hydrothermal carbonization may be used as a fertilizer due to its abundant nutrients. This study provides an indepth understanding of the corn stover-derived hydrochar, which is of great significance for the potential application of hydrochar.

The CAS is 67-51-6. Through research, I have a further understanding and discovery of 3,5-Dimethyl-1H-pyrazole.

New cis-(1,2-azole)-aquo bis(2,2′-bipyridyl)-ruthenium(II) (1,2-azole (az*H) = pzH (pyrazole), dmpzH (3,5-dimethylpyrazole), and indzH (indazole)) complexes are synthesized via chlorido abstraction from cis-[Ru(bipy)(2)Cl(az*H)]OTf. The latter are obtained from cis-[Ru(bipy)(2)Cl-2] after the subsequent coordination of the 1,2-azole. All the compounds are characterized by H-1, C-13, N-15 NMR spectroscopy as well as IR spectroscopy. Two chlorido complexes (pzH and indzH) and two aquo complexes (indzH and dmpzH) are also characterized by X-ray diffraction. Photophysical and electrochemical studies were carried out on all the complexes. The photophysical data support the phosphorescence of the complexes. The electrochemical behavior of all the complexes in an Ar atmosphere indicate that the oxidation processes assigned to Ru(II) -> Ru(III) occurs at higher potentials in the aquo complexes. The reduction processes under Ar lead to several waves, indicating that the complexes undergo successive electron-transfer reductions that are centered in the bipy ligands. The first electron reduction is reversible. The electrochemical behavior in CO2 media is consistent with CO2 electrocatalyzed reduction, where the values of the catalytic activity [i(cat)(CO2)/i(p)(Ar)] ranged from 2.9 to 10.8. Controlled potential electrolysis of the chlorido and aquo complexes affords CO and formic acid, with the latter as the major product after 2 h. Photocatalytic experiments in MeCN with [Ru(bipy)(3)]Cl-2 as the photosensitizer and TEOA as the electron donor, which were irradiated with >300 nm light for 24 h, led to CO and HCOOH as the main reduction products, achieving a combined turnover number (TONCO+HCOO-) as high as 107 for 2c after 24 h of irradiation.

The present study pertains to the synthesis and characterizations of nine novel mixed-ligand complexes of [Zn(Hdmpz)(2)(L1)(2)] (1) (dmpz = 3,5-dimethylpyrazolate, Ll = 2-bromobenzoate), [Zn(Hdmpz)(2)(L2)(2)] (2) (L2 = 4-tert-butylbenzoate), Zn(Hdmpz)(2)(L3)(2) (3) (L3 = 2-thiophenoate), [Zn(Hdmpz)(2)(L4)(2)] (4) (L4 = 4-methylsalicylate), [Cd(Hdmpz)(2)(L5)(2)](2) (5) (L5 = 2,6-dihydroxy benzoate), [Cd (Hdmpz)(2)(L6)(2)](2).2H(2)O (6) (L6 = 3-(4-methoxy-phenylcarbamoyI)-acrylate), [Zn(Hdmpz)(2)(L7)](2) (7) (L7 = acetylenedicarboxylate), [Zn(Hdmpz)(2)(L8)] (8) (L8 = 1,2-phenylenediacetate), and [Cd(Hdmpz)(L9) (H2O)(2)].H2O (9) (L9 = 3-nitrophthalate). The resulting complexes were formulated via EA, IR, and SCXRD, and the TGA of all the complexes was also evaluated. The X-ray studies reveal that these complexes present mononuclear to dinuclear structures with tetrahedral geometry around each Zn2+, and octahedral/pentagonal bipyramidal geometry for Cd2+ The Hdmpzs in all compounds are coordinated only in monodentate fashion with its neutral N. The carboxylates at 1-4 and 3-9 function only as unidentate coordination units, the CO2- in 5 has the chelating bidentate coordination mode. Compound 6 contains both unidentate bridging and bidentate chelating COO-. The free carboxylate 0 at 2-4 and 7-8 accept the intramolecular N-H…O H-bonds, at 1 and 7 the uncoordinated O participate in the intermolecular N-H…O H-bonds. For 6 there is intermolecular N H-0 H-bond from the NHCO and H2O, and intramolecular N-H…O H-bonds from the NH at Hdmpz, the NHCO (acceptor), and one 0 at the bismonodentate coordinated COO-. One anion at 6 also gives the intramolecular N H-H-bonds from the NHCO(donor) and one O at the bismonodentate coordinated COO-. The intermolecular N-H…O H-bonds are from the phenol at both 4 and 5, and from the H2O at 9. The CH3 at Hdmpz in all compounds are participated in the noncovalent bonds except 3. The intricate intra-and intermolecular N-H…O and O-H…O H-bonds as well as C-H…N, C-H, O..O, Br…O, CH3…CH, CH2…C, CH3…C, C-H..O, CH2…O, CH3…O, C-H…S, C-H…CH3- rt, and pi…phi associations are elucidated by the X-ray crystallographic studies, which unite the discrete units into high-dimensional ordered supramolecular structures.
