Monomeric zinc ferrocene carboxylate [Zn(FcCOO)(3,5-dmp)(2)Cl] (1) has been synthesized from a reaction between the zinc chloride, sodium salt of ferrocene carboxylic acid (FcCOONa) and 3,5-dimethylpyrazole (3,5-dmp) at room temperature. Compound 1 was further characterized by elemental analysis, H-1 NMR, FT-IR, absorption, emission spectroscopic techniques, and molecular structure was confirmed by single-crystal X-ray diffraction studies. The molecular structure of compound 1 crystallized in triclinic system with P (1) over bar space group and the central Zn2+ ion is in a distorted tetrahedral geometry with -FeN2OCl coordination environment. Compound 1 was further stabilized with the aid of inter and intramolecular hydrogen bonding and pi-pi interaction between cyclopentadienyl ring of ferrocene and aromatic heterocyclic five membered 3,5-dimethylpyrazole. Compound 1 exhibits broad emission band, indicating ligandto-metal charger transfer (LMCT) or metal-to-ligand charger transfer (MLCT) nature. The electrochemical property of compound 1 revealed that one-electron anodic and cathodic peaks corresponding to the redox responsible of ferrocene/ferrocenium (FeII <-> Fe-III) moiety. Among the different strains of bacteria, the antibacterial activity of compound 1 showed comparatively a significant activity against gram negative bacterium Proteus vulgaris. (C) 2020 Elsevier B.V. Background: Transrectal ultrasound-guided prostate biopsy (TRBx) or transperineal Bx (TPBx) are considered alternative approaches for the diagnosis of prostate cancer (PCa). However, urinary tract infection (UTI) or other complications could be more frequent in the TRBx approach. Objective: To determine the complication rate following different antimicrobial prophylaxis (AMP; fosfomycin trometamol [FT] vs beta-lactame or fluorochinolones [FQ]) in patients undergoing TRBx or TPBx. Design, setting, and participants: The analyses were based on prospectivelycollected data of a cohort of patients who underwent TRBx or TPBx for elevated prostate-specific antigen (PSA; >= 4 ng/ml) or clinical suspicion of PCa, between September 2016 and March 2017. Patients received a single dose of 3 g oral FT (group A) or, alternatively, FQ or beta-lactame (group B). Intervention:TRBx versus TPBx. Outcome measurements and statistical analysis: Adjustment variables consisted of age, PSA, biopsy technique (TPBx vs TRBx), and antibiotic prophylaxis (FT vs beta-lactame or FQ) using 1:1 propensity-score matching. Overall, 526 patients were considered, of whom 258 received FT (group A) and the other 258 received beta-lactame or FQ (group B). Results and limitations: Overall complications occurred in 390 (75.58%) and major complications in 67/516 (12.98%). Lower prevalence of UTIs was detected in group A (34.1%) compared with that in group B (43.4%; p = 0.03), while similar rates of haematuria (54.7% vs 55.4%), haemospermia (39.5% vs 33.0%), and acute urinary retention (11.6% vs 9.3%) were detected in groups A and B. We found that group B (odds ratio [OR]: 1.54; p = 0.03), I grade haematuria (OR: 6.17; p < 0.01), and II grade haematuria (OR: 5.13; p < 0.01) were significantly associated with increased risk of UTIs. Conclusions: AMP with fluoroquinoles or beta-lactam antibiotics increased the rate of UTIs, when compared with FT, in patients undergoing TRBx or TPBx. The appearance of haematuria or haemospermia is associated with UTIs, suggesting the possibility of tailoring the strategy for prophylaxis in this category of patients. Patient summary: In this study, comparing complications after transrectal ultrasound-guided prostate biopsy versus transperineal biopsy, prophylaxis with fluoroquinoles or beta-lactam antibiotics increased the rate of urinary tract infections when compared with fosfomycin trometamol, regardless of the type of biopsy approach. A new semi-theoretical equation is suggested for correlation of solid-liquid solubility data with temperature. The (solid + liquid) equilibrium for Terephthaldialdehyde, 4-Nitro-o-phennylenediamine, 2,4-dihydro- 5-methyl-2(4-methylphenyl)-3H-pyrazol-3-one (also named 1-(p-toly1)-3-methyl-5pyrazolone (PTMP)), 2-Amino-5-methylthiazole and 5-chloro-1-methyl-4-nitroimidazole in 18 solvents is correlated with semi-empirical models at temperatures T = 273.15 – 318.15 K under a pressure of 101.2 kPa. Moreover, a modified Apelblat model, lambda h model, Wilson model, NRTL model, new flexible equation as Akbari, Dideban and Farhang model (ADF) and for first time the modified Scatchard-Hildebrand equation were utilized to calculate the experiment values. The performance of both ADF and modified Scatchard-Hildebrand equation have been checked by calculating the solubility data with the AARD% of 1.3808% (for 775 data points) and 0.65% (for 100 data points), respectively. The Wilson model is applied to estimate the mixing Gibbs energy, mixing enthalpy, mixing entropy, activity coefficient (ln gamma(infinity)(1)) and reduced excess enthalpy (H-I(E,infinity)) at infinitesimal concentration were calculated.

The aim of the present study was to analyze the outcomes of treatment with regorafenib in real-world clinical practice based on data from a national registry. Methods: The CORECT registry, the Czech non-interventional database of patients with mCRC treated with targeted agents, searched for patients with metastatic CRC treated with regorafenib. In total, 555 evaluable patients were identified. Results: The median age at diagnosis was 61.7 years. All patients had disease progression on or after previous systemic treatment. Most patients were treated with an initial dose of 160 mg daily (n = 463; 83.6%). The median duration of treatment was 2.7 months (range 0.023.4 months). By the data cut-off date, 472 patients (85%) had completed treatment with regorafenib and were evaluable for treatment response evaluation. Partial response was reported in 13 patients (2.8%) and disease stabilization in 130 patients (27.5%). Median progression-free survival (PFS) and overall survival (OS) were 3.5 months (95% confidence interval [CI] 3.2-3.7 months) and 9.3 months (95% CI 8.3-10.3 months), respectively. The 6-month OS rate was 67.7% (95% CI 63.4-72.1%). Multivariable analysis showed that female gender, longer interval from diagnosis of metastatic disease, MO stage at diagnosis, and Eastern Cooperative Oncology Group performance status (ECOG PS) 0 were associated with longer PFS, while higher body-mass index (BMI), longer interval from diagnosis of metastatic disease, and ECOG PS of 0 were associated with longer OS. Conclusion: OS of patients treated with regorafenib in the real-world clinical practice in this cohort exceeded that reported in randomized trials. Regorafenib is a safe and active treatment option for a subgroup of patients with mCRC who are progressing after other systemic therapies and maintain good performance status.

Microwave-assisted pyrolysis of furfural residue (FR) in an auger reactor was conducted. The biochar yield decreased and non-condensable gas yield increased with increasing temperature. Condensate yield reached maximum (i.e. 21.49 wt%) at 550 degrees C. Kaolin, CaO and K2CO3 enhanced tar secondary reactions, reduced the yield and O/C ratio of bio-oil, improved GC-MS areas of phenolic compounds to 76.25%, 89.28% and 93.1%, respectively. All additives improved yields of H-2 and CH4, while CaO reduced CO2. With increasing temperature, relative proportion (RP) of HCN/NH3 reached up to 13.67, while RP of H2S and chlorine in volatiles increased from 1.17%, 5.97% to 2.75%, 9.00%, respectively. Ammonia nitrogen in volatiles increased to 6.94% by K2CO3. Kaolin improved RP of HCN from 0.11% to 5.47%, while K2CO3 eliminated HCN. H2S increased with kaolin addition and decreased with CaO and K2CO3. Electricity consumption of MWAP varied from 0.5 to 3.78 (kWh/kg FR) depending on temperatures and additives. Reported herein is the pyrazole-directed iridium-catalyzed enantioselective borylation of unbiased methylene C-H bonds at the position beta to a nitrogen center. The combination of a chiral bidentate boryl ligand, iridium precursor, and pyrazole directing group was responsible for the high regio- and enantioselectivity observed. The method tolerated a vast array of functional groups to afford the corresponding C(sp(3))-H functionalization products with good to excellent enantioselectivity.
