Yield: 72 g (80%), Melting point: 199 C to 201 C. lambdamax (ethyl acetate solution) of Exemplified compound (1) was 444 nm.

The combined aqueous layers were extracted with ethyl acetate (20 mL) and the combined organic layers were dried over sodium sulfate. Concentration and purification by chromatography (SiO2, heptane:ethyl acetate=80:20 to 0:100) afforded the title compound (656 mg, 64%) as a colorless oil. MS m/e: 379.3 [M+H]+.
